Scifi walker

Hi everybody,
it's been a while since i last posted anything, but now i've decided to fire up the old Max and get busy again.
This time i'm attemting to build a scifi walker from a concept sketch i found somewhere roaming the net.

I think it's good practice to break free from the tutorials and see if i've learned enough to model something from scratch using only one picture as reference.

Wasn't sure if i was going to post it here, but i figure it might help me keep going if i get some pressure from you guys...

So here goes...a foot and it's leg.

Here's the reference i'm using.
If anyone has any objections to it being showed here, let me know.

I know there are parts that don't match 100%, but this is practice on my behalf, just to see how close i can get.

Good reference - thats a piece made by Jeremy Love, he did the concept art for the 3d-palace Ultimax set too. If you complete it you should drop him a message at the conceptart forums to let him know.

Thanks for the info, Cris. I didn't know who had made the concept and can't remember where i found it.

I will see how far this thing takes me, and be sure that i take NO credit for the concept drawing. I just hope it's OK to use concept art like this...

I'm pretty sure it'll be okay so long as you claim it to be yours entirely and go on to try and make million off it. Good work on that leg there. Keep it up!

Thanks for your comments.
I have sort of linked the leg already, don't know much about rigging though...
Another thing is i'm not sure how this thing would actually operate.
Still have some issues with the foot. How and where to bend it.

Anyway, i have been working on the pelvis part, or hipjoint.
Not sure what they're supposed to be called...

Hope you enjoy it.
