Well, got the DVD yesterday and was up until 4AM working on it simply because I was so interested. Here's what I've got so far:

- Have a question in regards to this one. Does anyone know how to have them slow down their descent? They seem to, after exploding, wink out of existence much too quickly, but at the same time I don't want to effect the rate at which the fireworks are launched.

- I'm still messing with settings, as it really doesn't feel like smoke at the moment. Needs to be a lot thicker and billowing. If anyone has some tips I'd be glad to hear 'em
After I finish the wreck I'll move onto either the spider or moth(ship), haven't decided yet. Fantastic video thus far, though.

The first one looks good, but I think the particles are moving a little too fast.
The fireworks are nice, but you should put a Drag space warp (in X,Y, and Z) on at the end as the sparks fall and burn out. Or you could lower the effect that gravity has on it (default is 1000%).
As for the models, I had a lot more fun with the Moth, but the spider rig is cool too. It's all good, so you can't go wrong.

I need to go and redo the gravity for the end of the fireworks too. They fall way too fast for me. I got really tired of rerendering the movie though. It was murder on the ole PC. I might redo that soon, though.

-j | I will, but you're right -- rendering is Murder. Even at low resolutions. And I'm running a Core Duo 2 overclock, 2GB dual channel ram and an 8800GT with a 300GB SATA II drive. It still hurts, but the detail it pumps out is amazing. I've got the wreck fully finished, but it is impossible to render except overnight.
