Talking Abandoned train - my first wip

Hi!

This is my first WIP in 3D Palace. My idea is to make a train/cargo holder left to rust, in a old trainstation... the train is coming along nice (I think...) but the trainstation and all... I really don't know if I'll make that scene. I already have other projects that I would like to do...

I'm also doing the Badger tutorial and reading and making "3ds Max modelling - Bot's, Mechs and droids"...

comments and critics are more then welcomed!!!

Ps - Ok... the wheels are too small... I noticed that. But they are still under development... Sorry for the size of the images, I didn't knew if I could send bigger images... next time I'll post bigger!

good start, the model looks clean but the images are a bit too small to see the details. Are you going to model a the whole train or just one of the cars? will be looking forward for more updates.

Hi Younglion!

The original idea was to model the train but when I saw this car I decided that this was what I was going to model... I'm preparing a simple scene to it, if I decide not to go through with the trainstation...

Hi again!

Added some more details. This is a camera view, probably this will be THE camera view. I still have to mess around a bit more with lights and all... so... sorry for this dark image but...

I still need to add detail to the front of the car and add some more objects to the scene!

Be well

Hi!

A small update, with the scene almost complete... I just need to finish up the front of the car (adding some more detail -> pipes and lamps...)

Then is on to texturing...

Be cool!

its looking much better but the edges around the barrels are too sharp, you should bevel/ chamfer them

Finally I'm done with the train and will start uvw mapping it all... but now I'd like to know you're opinion... what is for you the best camera angle:
- hipotese_a;
- hipotese_b;
- hipotese_c;
- hipotese_d;

Looking forward to hear your opinions...

Hi and thanks for your reply Younglion.

I'm really having a hard time picking one. I like image a and d... but in d I should try to show more sky on the image, because it's a little "of balance"...

But I'll start with the texturing and then (maybe) it will be easier to pick... I hope!
