As many of you know for some time now I have been working on a particle based tornado, that project for now is on hold due to the fact my PC is crap and it wont render properly at the settings I require.
So, I thought why not start a smaller project that my PC can handle, unfortunately that is not my style so this new project is now bigger than the tornado one, my hope is that if I take my time the new PC will be ready for when it comes to final rendering this beast.
So, what is the new project I hear you say, well I am sticking to my learning of particles and putting them into semi-realistic environments (semi because I just aint godd enough for full realism). So I have done wind, so I am now going for water.
The plan is that a Dam for one reason or another cracks and a mass amount of water comes flying down a revine towards a small village, but an F14 jet which just happens to be passing by (as you can see story boarding is not my strong point) fires it's missiles at the revine wall making a temporary damn for the water.
Now as you can imagine, the particles needed for this to look semi real is a lot, so for now I am just building the Jet, Enviroment and maybe a few smaller scale tests to get the flow right.
A few of you know I have been working on this and I keep getting whinged at that I haven't made a WIP yet so here it is.
So far it is just the work on the F14 jet, it's from the 3D Buzz fundemental set, but with a few of my own adaptions.

Here are 2 more renders of the Texturing done so far.
Both identical, but the first is done with 1 skylight and a target direct light and done in Scanline
The 2nd was done using 2 omnis, 1 orange and one blue and rendered using mental ray
All comments greatful as are any ideas for the project.

Hopefully January so I have a bit of time to get it all sorted.
I can still make some final render screen shots, but the animation will have to wait.

Hi!
Your new project sounds really interesting and I hope January comes fast so whe can see it!
Why is it that in some of your images the airplane has a sort of antenna in the nose and in other's there's no antenna? I would maintain it, has it gives some more realism (IMO)
