so what im working on at the moment is various hard surface models, all the wip's and final images will be in here
nothing very hardcore to start of with, just a simple turret, ill post up the concept i drew for it but its not finished yet (waiting on some new markers)
ill be going through and texturing it as well
and dont worry, i havnt put the big arse guns on it yet

good idea! I've toyed with taking one aspect of a bigger model and just focus on it.
In your case, a turret of a bigger ship.
Cool idea! Looking forward to seeing your WIPs.
You mention markers - do you sketch your own concept ideas?

i try to as much as possible, only recently have i started refining rough pencil sketches into shiny concepts though
i find drawing out whatever it is youre modeling first not only looks good in a portfolio (shows you going from design development to final image) but it helps with the modeling process a lot as well because you already know where everything is going in your mind

Sounds cool. Wish I could draw/sketch/doodle better. The FEW times I did something like this, I wrote a very descriptive text about the model.

its not hard to improve your skills really, just spending like 30min everyday sketching can make a huge improvement, im not the best but i get by
progress today was very slow, im not really happy with the back of the guns and where they attach to the main body of the turret (pretty much just a cylinder at the moment)
c&c welcome as always
