Thanks for the kudos and comments. I'll see about texturing first. Texturing has never been my strong suit. It's actually easier to animate as far as I'm concerned.
I've roughed in another cannon to finish the overall thing, and now I have to gear up for detailing the remainder of the model. I've also modelled myself into a corner when I realized the shoulders should go higher on the body. Now I'm running into a problem where the drawings don't match up (from front to back) and that makes modelling that much more theoretical.

OK, major structural work is done. I think all the body parts have been dealt with. Now, on to the fine details on the guns and the back. I may actually finish this one !!

Blender internal rendering engine. I think I have to adjust my lighting again, tho. I scaled up the model (blender has no internal units of measure, but the primitives it creates are 1x1 grid units at the default viewport distance) because I was dealing with really small pieces. I need to either scale up or move my lights to compensate.
