That's why I like to model things at 1:1 scale - that is, I don't like using "Max Units".

So, if I work on a library of custom-modeled objects, and all the objects are modeled at the correct size as real life, then if I make my room 10'x10', the stuff xref'd in will be proportional. Every time.

Just a tip...

First of all, try and keep my thread based on the interior tutorial from this site please. Thanks.

Second, make sure you are using exponential set in your color mapping of vray 'less you may experience a blown out effect. Generally this would work with still renders that I do but when doing interiors, it is best to go with exponential to distribute the light accordingly.

Also, sometimes it doesn't take a tape measure or ruler to determine proportions. God gave us eyes so that we may look around us and tell that no, a ceiling is not just above the couch and no, the chair isn't the size of 3 apples. If you don't have such means of using measurements, then take a look around you. I do it myself at times.

O.K

Here is my second render image.

chair size is adjusted proportionally to door, window.

Chair's bright red colours appeared. Problem was wrong material ID assignment. Reassigned ID brought colurs back. You can see nice chair shadow.
D3D, I'm following your tutorial contents.Only I tried these contents in different scene. This way I can go forward to do more complex projects.

As soon as I can figure out the cost, I'll let it be known. The release is ahead of schedule actually so fingers crossed I get this out before too much longer.

D3d is the dvd going to be like you start off with the floor plan of the house? Or are you gonna like invert a box and just split it up like that?

The dvd starting point is introducing interior design. We walk through examples of traditional, modern and transitional design and compare them to each other; pointing out variances and the like.

Moving on to examples of the many ways to get started when modeling interiors from box modeling, spline modeling and using CAD drawings.

The overall interior will be a floor plan from CAD that we will import in and work off of. After everything is complete, we then move on to furnishing our interior and setting the color schemes. Lighting and rendering.

I have had a special CAD drawing sent to me that we will be working from. This is a many, many hour project and will be well worth it if anyone is ready to get into this field.

D3D

On another note from an earlier post, Olli was saying that when getting CAD drawings, you're sometimes messed up because layers are messed up, points aren't welded and he's totally right. I've gotten so much crap before, I ended up really having to work harder because the drawings were rotten. HOWEVER, I have a great architect who sent me a wonderful CAD drawing and we WILL NOT run into that problem.

(Yes I know sometimes you have to do this. ALTHOUGH I never have and I've been 5 jobs deep. Make your own library.
