Building models from Cad Drawings in 3ds max
by cameroon95 09-01-2008, 12:01 PM

Hi guys.

Iv been asked to learn how to build a model from 2d cad drawings of models. As in perhaps building one up from the blueprint(given correct measurements etc)

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good tutorials for this purpose, preferably mechanical ones as the majority of my work involves this. Or in fact any mechanical tuts at all?

cheers guys

cameroon

Well you're in the right place my friend.
Start by downloading the first part of the Audi tutorial in the 'Video tutorials' section
It shows step by step process for setting up blueprints.
Have a look at the other tutorials in the same section - there's plenty of tutorials from absolute beginner upwards.
