I was going to just write this up but there's a number of visual steps and a bunch of people showed some interest so made a vid. Let me know what you think: Rapidshare - AmmoBelt_tut.mp4 (H.264), 11.2MB, 1280x763, Audio, 4mins 14secs
The settings used are a bit random so could prolly use some tweaking.
If the belt needs to hit stuff, then just make a low poly mesh of the object and add it into the cloth mod as a collision object.
