UDK is great - it allows you to make video games of all kinds and, best of all, its FREE to download and use.  This means that you can start to learn how to make your own video games - one of the most popular forms of 3d at the moment for people looking to carve themselves a carreer or new hobby!

In this 8 hour long 3d-Palace set, your instructor Cris takes you on a tour inside of UDK, 3ds Max, Mudbox and his overactive imagination in order to show you how to create complicated looking levels inside of UDK REALLY quickly!

Because UDK sadly doesnt come with every asset you could ever want, the set steps into showing you how to create some assets - showing how to make a low polygon train, rails and internal seating.  The rails are used to demonstrate some simple fast texture and normal mapping techniques and importing into the UDK level - just to show how easy it is!

The textures in the scene dont seem quite what we are looking for - so we show you how to change a texture to something more suitable for what we need for a clean clinical look!

Because what is being made is supposed to be an arrivals hall the tutorial demonstrates how to build airport seating from scratch in a 3d app, then bring it into UDK, including how to set bounding boxes and making it break when you shoot it.  Which lets face it is the FIRST thing you would do.  With UDK Free and Autodesk software free to all students now, there is no better time to learn!

I bought the ED209 a few days ago so I could start getting to know UDK and was wondering if you were ever going to have anymore UDK tutorials. I logged in just now, saw this and had to buy it

video one is out of sync a bit so Im re-encoding it - anyone that grabs it will get a free replacement though. The set is a fairly a-typical Cris Tutorial™ in which I wander from subject to subject at various paces trying to get lots done at once
