Hey guys, i don't know if this site is only for 3D max and UDK tutorials, I would like to ask, Could be possible to make tutorials for Maya? I know there is only one, but i would like to see more about it. For modeling, rigging, animation etc.

Hey Tikvar4e. How new are you to Maya? and 3D in general? are you already accomplished in 3dsmax and are wanting to move to maya? or are you just picking up the program for the first time?
I could knock up a tutorial for Maya if you'd like. but would be handy to know what you want to know first.

I've written a couple of MEL scripting tutorials that are on this site (i think its in the maya forum)

one thing that i'm sure others will tell you, if you know a program pretty well you can watch a tutorial in another program and still follow along. but if you are new to the program thats super tricky

let me know what you're after

Hey man, Well, i am really used to with 3D max, but here where i live is no used. They use Maya for everything. For TV and also is used in our VFX studio here in Macedonia FX3X. So i want to start to learn and use Maya as well. But i have problem, because there is so much options in the tools, that i have no idea how to use them, like in Loft, Revolve etc.

I would like to see character design in Maya with Zbrush if you can. Like using, poly and subd and nurbs too. I want to learn how they are used in movies. I want to go intern at FX3X as 3d modeler, they told me they use Maya, and i can't enter with knowledge from 3D max:(.

Please don't tell me to use DT, I fell sleepy from their tutorials.

hey mate, i hear ya about DT lol

what you might find is most tutorials would be boring for you, as you already know 3d. you're just needing to learn the buttons. when i was learning i found the free intro ones from 3dbuzz for their advanced maya modeling course were a great start to get my head around how you approached a problem in maya. The hardest thing you'll find you have to learn is the different names for things, in maya its a split tool, not a cut tool, champher is now called bevel. things like that

as for lofting and revolving, just play around with it. there are plenty of options, but i reckon after 10-20 minutes of playing around with it you should have covered them all. The help file is also really useful for things like that. check that out too. i'm always digging into the help file. its a great starting point

sorry i'm really ordinary at making characters and am even worse when it comes to sculpting programs like zbrush and mudbox.
